A Digital Video User Admits their Digital Camera is not any Better than the JVC-KY-X2B S-VHS camera. I saw the picture the Sony DV-Cam 250 produced. The picture was nice, but in wide angle the edges were soft in low light.
This person admitted that the new Sony Kick-arse DV-CAM 250 camera is really not any better than the JVC-X2B S-VHS camera. The 250 DOES NOT HAVE A BACKFOCUS ADJUSTMENT!
The reason to use the the Sony digital camera are two fold. Clients want to hear that their production is being shot digitally, (thanks, digital hypster marketeers :mad and the camera is lighter.
There it is folks, the highly touted sony digital DV-Cam camera is no better than the highest quality S-VHS 3-chip cameras that have been in production for the last 5-7 years, but they are LIGHTER!
While that is an important distinction if one needs the camera to be as light as possible, that is a far stretch from saying the camera is better.
It is not.
